THE HOLLOWAY FAMILY
We are the Holloway family - Bob, Lisa, Amanda and Danielle. The missions ministry God called us to began in 1993 serving in the country of Mexico. From there we went to the country of Venezuela in 1999 to begin a new stage of our missons journey.
Since arriving in Venezuela, we have been involved in many aspects of ministry: disaster relief (flood victims), construction of a Bible Institute/training center, church planting, evangelism outreaches, compassion ministry to include food distribution and medical teams, teaching, preaching, and many other aspects of showing the love of Jesus.
Our main focus of ministry is the indigenous groups of Venezuela. We have been involved with a project named M.E.T.A. which stands for Ministry to the Ethnic groups Throughout the Americas. The word META in Spanish means goal, and it is our goal to partner with the national church raising up workers and preparing them to reach the entire Indigenous population of Venezuela with the gospel. The indigenous groups are primarily located in remote areas that are sparsely populated. This makes for challenging work, but God has given us a strategy to begin to reach these remarkable people: to plant a church in the capital of each municipality within the states where there are large indigenous populations.
In Turmero, where we currently live, we have planted a new church. We are excited as we watch the Lord do great things in the lives of those who have accepted the saving work of Jesus Christ in their lives. This area has been dominated by a caribbean style witchcraft called “sanataria” for many years. It has been a struggle, but God is showing Himself powerful among this community.
Our children have always seen the need to reach out to others and have been very active in ministry among youth and children using drama, music, puppets and other forms of the arts to reach out to people. Amanda is currently in Medical School with the purpose of using her talents for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Danielle is beginning her studies in Dance and Psychology with a vision to reach out to women caught in human trafficking. They are a great blessing to us as a family and also to the ministry.
