We currently have no full time Assemblies of God missionaries in Delta Amacuro. We are working with Pastor Florentino who is part of another organization. He along with his family, are planting churches in some villages close to their home in Jobure. We are beginning to see quite a bit of interest in the work generated in the past couple of years as people hear about the needs and yield to the calling of God on their lives. Indigenous ministry is relatively new for the national church so it may take some time to raise up and train people to enter this harvest field. We do know that God is working on people and we believe that the vision for M.E.T.A. will become a reality in this part of the world within the next 4 years.
Dilcia Garrido is a single woman who lives in nearby Puerto Ordaz. Having worked in Delta Amacuro in the past, Dilcia has knowledge and experience about the area. This servant of God has voiced her willingness to help oversee groups who come to minister in the municipality as well as take care of the missions base that we want to build in Curiapo. We are praying that God will use Dilcia to raise up a great work.
